Prof. Dr. Hizir Sofyan as an adviser always support or follow the progress being made by each member. Prof. Dr. Hizir is the  Head of Graduate School of  Universitas Syiah Kuala, Banda Aceh, Indonesia. He is a professor at  Statistics Department, Universitas Syiah Kuala. He is also a chair person of International Statistical Institute ( ISI) Outreach Committee on South East Asia. He obtained his B.Sc in Statistics from  Sepuluh Nopember Institute of Technology Surabaya, Indonesia in 1992 and his doctoral degree at the Institute of Statistics and Econometrics, School of Business and Economics,  Humboldt-Universitat zu Berlin, Germany in 2003. His supervisors were  Prof. Wolfgang Haerdle (Statistics Department, Humboldt Universitaet zu Berlin) and  Prof. Oliver Guenther (President of Potsdam University).
